New Board Class Reflects Depth of Transactional Expertise Across Key U.S. Markets
Hotel Brokers International (HBI), the premier association of specialists in hotel real estate brokerage, has announced the election of new members to its Board of Directors, reinforcing the organization’s leadership bench at a time of continued evolution in hospitality investment and transactions. The new directors will begin their terms on February 9.
Representing diverse geographic markets and a broad spectrum of hotel deal experience – from independent properties to branded assets – the incoming board members strengthen HBI’s ability to serve as a strategic resource for hotel owners, investors, and brokerage professionals nationwide.
The newly elected officers and directors include:
Edward P. Walsh – Alpine Realty Capital, LLC, Ann Arbor, Michigan
Errol A. D’Souza – Laurel Real Estate Company, Columbus, Ohio
Dan Emert – Prime Investment Properties, LLC, Steamboat Springs, Colorado
Anup Shah – AHG Brokerage, LLC, Kissimmee, Florida
HBI’s Board of Directors is responsible for guiding the association’s strategic priorities, advancing professional standards, and ensuring members remain equipped with the market intelligence, relationships, and tools necessary to navigate an increasingly competitive investment landscape. The board also plays a central role in shaping HBI’s education initiatives and collaborative platforms that connect hotel brokers with qualified buyers, sellers, and capital sources.
“For more than six decades, HBI has been built on practitioner leadership,” said H. Brandt Niehaus, former President of HBI. “Our board members are active transaction professionals who understand the real-time challenges and opportunities facing hotel owners and investors. Their insight directly informs the programs and resources delivered to our membership.”
Founded in 1959, Hotel Brokers International has remained at the forefront of hotel real estate brokerage, supporting members through shared data, targeted marketing exposure, professional development, and a powerful referral network. Collectively, HBI members have facilitated thousands of hotel transactions across North America.
